Dermaplane
Sterile-blade exfoliation. Immediate glow, smoother makeup, better product absorption. At MODE Aesthetics and Wellness, Dermaplane in North Scottsdale is performed by Heather Cyr, LME, CLT, or Sara Espinoza, LME, CLT. Published pricing starts at $125.
Dermaplane is manual exfoliation using a sterile surgical blade, held at a precise angle, to remove dead skin cells and vellus (“peach fuzz”) hair from the face. The result: immediately brighter skin with smoother texture, and significantly improved product absorption and makeup application.
At $125 for an hour, dermaplane is one of the most relaxing skin-quality treatments at the clinician-owned medspa in North Scottsdale. Monthly is the sweet spot, consistent enough to keep the surface refined without over-exfoliating. The reviews from patients are a good place to start if you have not visited before.

At MODE, in clinic work is amplified by the ZO Skin Health regimen you follow between visits, calibrated at consult, tuned as your skin changes.
A deliberate sequence, not a one-time visit.
Cleanse
Skin thoroughly cleansed and dried to remove oil and debris. The blade needs dry, taut skin to work properly.
Dermaplane passes
Your aesthetician holds the blade at a controlled angle and makes gentle passes across the face. Comfortable throughout. Feels like a very light, steady scrape.
Serum application
With dead cells and vellus hair removed, serums penetrate significantly more effectively. A brightening or hydrating serum is applied post-dermaplane.
SPF
Fresh-exposed skin is briefly photo-sensitive. SPF applied before you leave; continued sun care recommended.
